Appeal for help identifying cars over shooting murder

DETECTIVES have renewed their appeal for public assistance and released further CCTV footage as they investigate the shooting murder of Mejid Hamzy at Condell Park last year.

Hamzy was gunned down in Simmat Avenue on Monday, October 19, about 7.30am. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and despite the efforts of emergency services, died at the scene.
Strike Force Courier was forced to investigate the shooting murder and in March, released CCTV of two vehicles of interest – a grey Toyota Rav 4 and a matte black Mercedes Benz.
Following further investigations, they have released additional CCTV of the Toyota and Mercedes, as well as vision of a third vehicle of interest – a white BMW 328i.
Police have identified that all three vehicles travelled from Moorebank to Condell Park and are seeking to identify the occupants of the vehicles, who may be able to assist with further inquiries.
The vehicles are captured on CCTV travelling in convoy at Marion and Edgar Streets, Condell Park, prior to and after the shooting. The Toyota was found burnt out at Yagoona a short time later.
The Mercedes and the BMW returned to Moorebank before travelling to Luddenham.
Police have also released CCTV of two further vehicles – a silver Toyota Corolla and white Toyota Hiace van – and are seeking to identify the occupants, who may have witnessed the events prior to and after the shooting.
The 2001-2007 model silver Toyota Corolla was travelling north on Simmat Avenue in the moments before the incident, while the white Toyota Hiace van was seen, also travelling north on Simmat Avenue, moments after the incident.
Police are urging anyone that may assist Strike Force Courier detectives, to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
