About 6.25pm on Tuesday, June 13, a 59-year-old man was struck by a Nissan Pathfinder while walking across a pedestrian crossing on Olympic Drive, Lidcombe.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of the vehicle, a 41-year-old woman, was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Arrest over drug manufacturing
A HOME in Guildford was raided by police after a 51-year-old man was arrested in Granville and charged with the allegedly manufacture and supply of drugs, and deal with property proceeds of crime.
He was one of two men charged by Drugs and Firearms Squad detectives who allegedly dismantled a clandestine lab in Oakhurst under Strike Force Kota.
Police allegedly located $10,550 in cash and approximately 1687g of methylamphetamine, estimated to have a street value of $2 million at Oakhurst and $8,565 in cash at the Guildford home.
Tougher fine for worker assault
PEOPLE who assault retail workers will face tougher penalties.
It is now an offence to: Assault, throw a missile at, stalk, harass or intimidate a retail worker in the course of the worker’s duty, even if no actual bodily harm is caused to the worker, with a maximum penalty of four years imprisonment; assault a retail worker in the course of the worker’s duty and cause actual bodily harm to the worker, with a maximum penalty of six years imprisonment; or wound or cause grievous bodily harm to a retail worker in the course of the worker’s duty, being reckless as to causing actual bodily harm to the worker or another person, with a maximum penalty of 11 years imprisonment.
