Bankstown RSL Sub-branch President Terry Corcoran said it was the first time the ANZAC service was held inside the club so that numbers could be monitored.
“I had my whole family there and the day went brilliantly,” he said.
“Right down to the beautiful breakfast complete with hash browns; Star Buffet did a wonderful catering job.”
Saying that a few of the veterans then joined the march in the city, Terry said they were looking forward to next year.
“Hopefully we will be back to normal and won’t have to worry about limitations,” he said.
Ahead of tributes flowing at all local clubs on Sunday, Georges River Grammar held their annual ANZAC Day service on Friday, with the entire student body, from Kindergarten to Year 12, in attendance.
Hosted by students Lauren and Harrison, under the direction of teacher Belinda Brown, the service is organised by Year 10 every year as part of their leadership program.
