Antonetta marking 100th

CHESTER Hill’s Abel Tasman Village has hosted another memorable centenarian birthday celebration after resident Antonetta Gaillard reached her 100th milestone on November 19.

Born in the Netherlands as one of 12 siblings, her mother passed away when she was three and she and her siblings moved to a Catholic orphanage run by nuns.
She remained living there until she married and came by boat to Australia in 1955.
The newlyweds first settled in Victoria ahead of buying a hairdressing salon in Willoughby before Antonetta worked for Peek Frean Biscuit Factory in Ashfield for over 20 years.
She also lived in Thailand at one stage, had four children and is an avid dog lover.
She even brought her pooch with her when she moved into Abel Tasman Village in 2011.
Antonetta celebrated her big day at the village with family and staff who hosted a special garden party.
