Another resounding victory for the Hawks

IN another resounding victory, Stanmore Hawks have scored a 3-1 win over Parramatta in Round 17.

Parramatta’s line-up included former Australian U21’s player Alusine Fofanah and former Socceroo Ahmed Elrich as well as several NPL 2 players recruited mid-season.
Parramatta played long at every opportunity utilising their pace to try open the best defence in the NPL3.
Wing backs Angus Chance and Tim Wohlfiel defended tirelessly with great support from centre backs Harry Brown and Oliver Stickland and mids Alberto Perea and Nathan Niski.
Scoreless at half time saw Parramatta looking the more likely.
Parramatta got the breakthrough mid-way through the half when Fofanah calmly converted from an angle.
Stanmore knew they had to respond to maintain their top of the table status and when Perea whipped in his trademark corner, Connor Quilligan thundered his header in the back of the net for the equaliser.
A few minutes later Stanmore took the lead when an error at the back was punished my Jovan Blagojevic.
The win was sealed shortly after when Quilligan scored his second header of the day.
Parramatta hit 2 pinpoint freekicks in extra time but Carosi’s outstretched arms ensured they’d be no comeback.
Next week sees Stanmore host Dunbar at Arlington Oval.
