Annual careers expo to help jobless online

THE annual jobs and skills expo, Careers+, has gone online to support local job seekers increase their skills and find employment in a Covid-safe way.
Mayor Khal Asfour says more than 35 organisations are keen to connect with local students and job seekers.
We are providing information and the resources to give job seekers – young and old – a place to start their search for training, apprenticeships and jobs,” he said.
“Many people without enough work are anxious, and this pandemic hasn’t made it any easier. It’s more important than ever to provide direct resources to our community.”
Like the rest of Sydney, Canterbury Bankstown is feeling the effects of Covid-19 with unemployment in the December 2020 quarter at 8.8 per cent.
“It is difficult and we want to do what we can to connect employers with employees – local jobs for local people,” Mayor Asfour said.
