The running festival, which in the past has attracted more than 600 entrants of all ages, from serious competitors to fun runners, walkers and families, will be held on Sunday, July 9, at Lake Gillawarna, Georges Hall.
It will be offering 3km, 7km, 14km or 21.1km runs, with all courses off-road and winding their way along Georges River and around Lake Gillawarna.
A spokesperson for Western Districts Joggers and Harriers, organisers of the event, said the event was about runners and walkers of all abilities coming together to make their lives healthier.
“Everyone is welcome to our fun family day of fitness and festivities. We offer individual, team and family entries,” she said.
On of this year’s charity beneficiaries, Angel Flight, recently had 109 flights in a week in and out of Bankstown.
Angel Flight CEO Marjorie Pagani said Bankstown was one of their busiest logistics zones.
“Your generous donations will help us immensely in the upkeep of fuel reimbursements for our Flight Angels (our volunteer pilots) as well as our Earth Angels (our volunteer drivers) so we can ensure people from remote areas can make their essential medical appointments,” she said.
“Angel Flight has been servicing regional Australians through free flight and logistics without any government support for 20 years thanks to donations and our wonderful volunteers.”
