“This event was held to show our community’s solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, in supporting the Constitutional Amendment to recognise the First Peoples of Australia,” the organisation’s community development worker Aly Trinh said.
“We partnered with Reconciliation NSW to provide further information in our community languages.”
Anatolian group invites all to vote yes for Voice
THROWING their support behind the ‘Yes’ vote in the upcoming Voice referendum, Auburn-based Australian Anatolian Community Services has hosted an Aboriginal flag-raising ceremony for members of the community (pictured) including children from Ana Kindergarten, Aboriginal descendant Janice Dennis, Auburn MP Lynda Voltz, Cumberland Mayor Lisa Lake, Councillor Sabrin Farooqui, Turkish Elders and Auburn residents.
