Almost 7,000 party at best ever Carols by Candlelight

KEEN to kick off the festive fun, nearly 7,000 merrymakers descended on Playford Park on Sunday night for the Rotary Club of Padstow’s ‘Carols by Candlelight’ (pictured).

With food trucks a plenty, a police patrol car showcase and wonderful entertainment provided by the Bankstown and Yagoona Brass Brands, TAP stars, SingOz and other favourite performers, Ronald McDonald launched proceedings with a magic show and a meet ’n’ greet including taking loads of selfies with fans.
Padstow Rotary President Charles Mille said the event was a huge success with a cool breeze taking out the heat of the day and a spectacular fireworks finale that was ‘incident-free’.
“Padstow residents Bob and Barbara have been coming to the carols for 53 years, except during Covid, and agreed it was the best one yet, we all gave them a round of applause,” he said.
“We also had community radio station 2BACR broadcasting live from the event.”
