The 31-year-old man was found about 3am near the intersection of Pritchard Street and Hemphill Avenue, Mt Pritchard, suffering serious injuries. He died at the scene.
Police allegedly seized a Lexus sedan from a nearby home for forensic examination and also arrested a 55-year-old man.
During a search of the home, police also allegedly seized almost $950,000 in cash.
The man was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasioning death), fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death and knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime.
His licence has also been suspended.
Investigations are continuing.
