Principal Meaghan Corcoran said that each year the Student Representative Council (SRC) identified charities to support via school fundraisers.
“For our first fundraiser for the year, students and staff were encouraged to get involved and dress up as a ‘pirate for the day’ and bring along a gold coin donation,” she said.
“Kindergarten completed a treasure hunt to develop mathematical positional language and received a reward of gold treasure when they located the ‘x’ on the map.
“Our canteen made yummy treats – pirate biscuits, cupcakes and chocolates on a stick, in the shape of a pirate, to make the day extra fun.
“A huge thank you to our students, parents and staff for getting involved and raising funds for such a worthy cause.”
