Aged care housing for veterans aids recovery

RSL LifeCare Veteran Services has been serving Australian veterans and their families by providing support and wellbeing programs, including aged care housing, that are veteran-centric and recovery focused, since 1911.

The team understands the challenges that veterans and their families face as well as the exciting opportunities ahead as they transition into civilian life.
Dedicated to meet individual needs, they help ensure veterans can continue to live their best life.
They support serving Australian Defence Force (ADF) members, ADF members transitioning out of service, and partners and families of veterans and ADF members.
Practical services include programs to support finances, mental health and physical wellbeing through veteran wellbeing centres, DVA claims and advocacy, homeless and housing support, home care, aged care, employment assistance and the Spur Equine program which sees veterans working and trekking with horses at Spur Ranch in Picton to promote healing and recovery. “Our purpose is to enrich veterans and seniors’ lives by creating connected, supportive and vibrant communities,” a spokesperson said.
“By striving to achieve this, we will continue to provide innovative and personalised care for our clients and residents.”
RSL NSW sub-branches donated $3.3 million to RSL LifeCare in 2023 to ensure that veterans and their families continue to receive free critical services and support.
RSL NSW President Mick Bainbridge said: “RSL NSW is committed to supporting RSL LifeCare’s veterans’ and families’ hubs because we know they work.”
