A Giants Academy product from Broken Hill, Isaac joined them in 2016.
The defender/wingman with elite disposal and exciting pace, Cumming had a breakout 2021 season and continued his impressive form to establish himself among the club’s best in 2022.
After a brilliant start to the 2023 season, he missed a couple of games through injury but returned to play a key part in the club’s late season finals push, finishing the season with 20 games to his name.
Playing half a game this week, he says he can’t wait to be fully into it again but in the meantime, he’s been kept busy running clinics for young players.
“AFL’s popularity is definitely on the rise in Bankstown as elsewhere and my advice to young players is that if you get looked over, keep trying hard and pushing as much as you can,” he said.
“I love having a kick with the kids and handing out the Giant jerseys and Auskick kits but as I tell them, the main thing is to have fun; you’ve got to enjoy what you do.”
AFL stars share success secrets
HE’S been absent from the field this season due to injury but GWS Giants player Isaac Cumming is as devoted as ever to the game, pulling on his boots last week to demonstrate his moves on a visit to Panania North Public and Kelso Park North, home of local junior AFL club – Bankstown Bullsharks.
