Adopt a pet in need in March

PETSTOCK Milperra will host its annual National Pet Adoption Month in March – an initiative led by charity organisation Petstock Foundation – to help change the lives of rescue pets in need of a permanent or temporary home.
Research indicates that 36 percent of Australian adults have reported feeling lonely, showing we have a need for more connection and companionship in our communities.

Adopting a pet can not only give a pet in need a loving home, it can also improve our health by decreasing feelings of loneliness and social isolation.
Petstock Milperra Store Manager, Alan Collis said they had a few animals up for adoption now and would open their doors to more rescue animals ahead of their ‘fostering, adoption’ weekend on Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17.
“At the Milperra Petstock, we already have a few very cute kittens and rabbits up for adoption,” he said.
“Over the fostering, adoption weekend, we are expected to host many more beautiful pets that are ready to find a loving home.
“We have partnered with Sydney Dogs and Cats Rescue Home, who will provide even more rescue animals so we can help find loving homes to those in need.”
He said kittens made wonderful pets and were easy to look after.
“They are also affectionate and bring a lot of fun to the family,” he said.
“They will constantly show you unconditional love and make you happy every day.”
