Rich tapestry of 50 cultures and all thrive

STUDENTS, staff and parents believe ‘every week is Education Week at Auburn North Public School’.

This is because every day of every week the school community celebrates student effort and achievement.
A high-performing and multi-award-winning school, Auburn North has won numerous NSW awards in areas such as leadership, teaching, learning, student wellbeing and parent engagement.
Students and parents come from more than 50 countries and speak more than 40 different languages, aligning with the school’s theme ‘The Best of All Worlds for 21st Century Learners’.
Blessed with a rich tapestry of cultures from around the world, the school’s students, staff and parents respect each other and celebrate their own and each other’s cultures.
Principal of Auburn North for the past 24 years, Mark Harris has taught in high schools and primary schools in five countries and been the principal of three schools.
He believes Auburn North students are the most motivated he has met, parents are supportive and the staff are the most dynamic and hardworking team he has seen assembled in any school.
He said his students’ comments are also the most inspiring.
“Auburn North is like my second home, I feel respected and valued like in my own home,” one student said.
“Every day when I wake up there’s always a smile on my face because I know how lucky I am to have such excellent, caring and fun-loving teachers and friends.”
Another student said: “I am grateful to be a student at Auburn North. What I love about my school is getting involved in all the extra activities and never being left out; it feels like home because our teachers treat us like we are their own children.”
