Pass It Back ahead of ‘Back to Parra’

Western Sydney Two Blues Rugby Union hosted the ‘Pass it Back’ gala to bring together over 160 boys and girls from six high schools to get a taste of the game which is played in over 100 countries around the world.
Two Blues General Manager Randy Basra says the program brings local schools together and educates them both on and off the field with introductions to rugby and some life skills.
“Rugby is able to give participants a sense of purpose and a place within the team that may be missing in other parts of their life,” he said.
“The sense of comradery with teammates is an important part of helping individuals move towards a more positive frame of mind.”
Meanwhile ‘Back to Parra’ Day is in recognition of all players, staff and volunteers who have represented Two Blues in its 145-year history.
One of the highlights will be a game played between some ‘old boys’ (ex players) versus a barbarians’ team at 12.30pm.
Two Blues’ current teams will face off against top-of-the-table Warringah Rats, taking them on in three men’s grades, two colts grades and the women’s team.
Basra said they were expecting over 500 people to attend from across Australia.
“There will be a great vibe during the day with plenty of singing, loads of stories about ‘the old days’ and a lot of reminiscing; some people will not have seen each other in many years; it’s going to be great and we hope to see a lot of new faces too.”
