As part of the council’s Eat Drink and Be Merrylands program, the Extravaganza will be a vibrant event showcasing the talents and skills of local primary and high school students this Friday, 4-7pm.
Cumberland Mayor Lisa Lake said the event provided an opportunity for children and young people to express their skills and talents.
“I encourage everyone to come along and support our local children and young people as they showcase their talents and explore the new Merrylands Civic Square,” the Mayor said.
Students taking part come from schools including Guildford West Public School, International Maarif Schools of Australia, Hilltop Road Public School, Regents Park Christian School and Westmead Christian School.
The entertainment line-up includes a mix of hip-hop, jazz, Turkish dancing, bands, drama performances, poetry reading and more. The family friendly event will also feature free children’s activities including a Giant Connect 4, Monster Tumble Tower, Cornhole Toss, Giant Naughts and Crosses as well as a range of food vendors and market stalls hosted by Merrylands Scout Group, Holroyd State Emergency Service (SES), NSW Police (Cumberland PAC) and Merrylands Youth Centre.
