Cumberland Council will be hosting a number of free activities and workshops for young people aged 12-25 years as part of the council’s Youth Week program that will run from April 20 to 30.
Cumberland Mayor Lisa Lake said that Youth Week was a great opportunity to engage with young people, celebrate our diversity and acknowledge the contributions of local youth.
“It’s really important that we show our youth that they are important to us, ensure that they feel valued and recognise their positive contributions to our community,” she said.
To align with this year’s theme of ‘Connect, Participate and Celebrate,’ the council will be hosting a fun-filled event at the Granville Centre on Friday, April 28, 5-9.30pm featuring mini golf, a silent disco, an art exhibit, gaming truck, and more.
Other free events include: Youth Week Futsal at The Granville Centre on Friday, April 28, 5.30-6.30pm; Open Mic Night at Auburn Centre for Community on Wednesday, April 26, 5-6.30pm; and Youth Week Book Exchange at Stockland Merrylands on Monday, April 24, 2-5pm.
