But your favourite eateries are ready for all of the extra orders rolling in and gearing up to fill empty tummies at the Ramadan Street Festival which returns to Auburn for one night only on Saturday, April 15, 5.30pm-12am.
Jam-packed with a huge line-up of food trucks and street food stalls in an authentic, outdoor setting, there will be a delectable range of cuisines from over 15 food vendors serving up an array of exotic foods including African fusion food, pizza, Turkish kofte rolls, falafel and kebabs, vegan Egyptian street food, souvlaki wraps and more.
Among the food businesses taking part is Menzil Bakery in Auburn Road.
Preserving recipes passed down through generations, owners Naim and Nermin say they are committed to service and quality.
Nermin is the biscuit and pastry specialist and has added a few more traditional sweets, along with the baklava, especially for Ramadan.
“Our onsite baker does all the Turkish breads and customers are welcome to drop in to check our wares during the festival,” she said.
Also among the line-up, Lokma-nia will be offering Turkish doughnuts, chocolates, cookies and beautiful Turkish coffee.
Or if you’re craving something savoury, grab a filling Dapto hotdog or a delicious Sydney Falafel meal including Shawarma wraps and burgers.
Mayor Lisa Lake says Ramadan Street Festival is an opportunity for the community to celebrate Cumberland’s diversity.
“Ramadan is an important time of year for many in our community, as they come together with loved ones to pray, reflect and share in the Ramadan spirit of peace and kindness,” she said.
