Working with the City of Canterbury Bankstown, NSW Labor has committed $50,000 towards upgrading Condell Park shops and a further $50,000 to build a new Neighbourhood Nook on Simmat Ave, Condell Park, which will involve new seating and landscaping improvements, if they are elected at the forthcoming election.
Mrs Wilkinson said she was delighted to announce the work after hearing on the ground from local businesses of how upgrades such as beautifying the shopping town strip, was what was needed for the area.
“Condell Park shops is a vibrant booming shopping town centre,” she said.
The council will also support the project as part of its Liveable Centres Program contributing funding of $50,000 to assist in beautifying Condell Park shops.
Cr Harika said “this is just the start”.
She said revitalising Condell Park shops had been a priority of hers for years.
“Local businesses and residents are the winners in this announcement, I’m so glad Kylie Wilkinson has listened to the locals.”
Upgrade shopping strip vow
LABOR candidate for East Hills, Kylie Wilkinson was joined by businesses, residents and Canterbury Bankstown Councillor, Rachelle Harika, to announce that a Minns NSW Labor Government will fund upgrades to Condell Park shops and build a new Neighbourhood Nook as part of the NSW Labor’s 2023 election commitments.
