US comedian flying in for first time just for a laugh

FOR the first time in Australia, Chicago-based Ramina Rated brings her stand up show down under to Bryan Brown Theatre this Thursday night.

Described as a large group therapy session with her fans, Ramina Rated’s Comedy Show is an appreciation (and roast) of some Middle Eastern cultural nuances and shared experiences that many other cultures draw parallels to as well.  Audiences are sure to laugh along with her as she finds the humour in some of her hilarious and highly relatable experiences as a Middle Eastern woman who’s always had too much to say.
As a first generation Assyrian American, Ramina’s comedy touches on the taboos, and in some cases, the culture shock experienced by her community.
Her videos transcend borders and culture, and she has accumulated millions of views and thousands of followers over the span of a year and a half.
“I’ve got a couple of degrees under my belt, but I quit my job as an educator to become a full-time content creator/comedian … my parents are doing okay, just a couple trips to the hospital, but for the most part they’ve been supportive,” she says with a laugh.
The Ramina Rated Down Under Sydney show, brought to you by Assur Kings Entertainment, will consist of two ticket types being Gold and Silver.
Gold Ticket inclusions: Pre show meet and greet/photos with Ramina to start at 6.30pm on event night, front rows seats, complimentary drink and a commemorative, take-home item.
