This season saw the largest number of registrations since 2000 when the Olympic Games were held in Sydney.
Out of 365 athletes – from Tiny Tots to Under 17s – registering, 79 nominated to compete at the Southern Met Zone Championships in December.
From this championship, 66 athletes qualified to compete at the Region 8 Championships held at The Crest in early February.
Revesby Little A’s President Christine Butters said they were excited to witness 30 of those athletes qualify to compete at the State Championships at SOPAC in mid March, with 10 of these athletes qualifying in every event they contested at regional level.
“Our numbers of competitors and qualifiers has been growing year on year, from 13 State qualifiers in the 2018-19 season, to 26 last season and now 30 this season,” she said.
“A big thank you must go to our dedicated officials and coaches who spend time preparing the athletes and ensuring a varied round of competition events each Friday night.”
