Thousands stranded as trains get back on track

SYDNEY and intercity train services are resuming after a communications issue shut down the network for about an hour in today’s afternoon peak.
Trains had been stopped at platforms with students among the thousands of commuters stranded.
Passengers are still advised to delay their trip or consider using alternative transport.
Those who need to travel by train are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time, and expect major delays and gaps in service.
Passengers are also advised to listen to announcements and check information displays for service updates as stopping patterns may change.
