All weather park boost vow

THE popular Kelso Park North will receive a $672,000 upgrade if the NSW Liberal and Nationals Government is re-elected.

Premier Dominic Perrottet joined East Hills MP Wendy Lindsay to announce improvements to drainage and the ground surface at the park which would help significantly reduce the number of days it is closed due to rain.
“We know rain has put a dampener on sport in recent years so it’s vital our local sports infrastructure is upgraded to allow greater access to community sport facilities for recreation or grassroots clubs,“ he said.
“This upgrade will make sure Kelso Park North hosts even more footy and cricket games on the weekend and gives the local little athletics club more time on the track and field, regardless of the weather.”
Mrs Lindsay said the much-needed upgrade would also allow greater use of the facility by local organisations and schools for carnivals and events.
She said the upgrade would build upon existing improvements which include a $1.5 million upgrade to player and spectator amenities.
Bankstown Bullsharks AFL Club’s Tim Hall welcomed the funding and said more time on the park learning new skills, playing games and having lots of fun “is a win for everyone”.
