‘Guard of honour’ for teacher after career of 54 years

AFTER a teaching career spanning 54 years, Head of Primary at Georges River Grammar (GRG), Nina Heinecke, is being farewelled following her retirement on Friday.

Principal Raquel Charet said Mrs Heinecke had become “an institution” at GRG.
“Her tireless efforts, determination and dedication to educating young people has transformed the lives of countless students, teachers and parents,” she said.
“We will miss her greatly and wish her all the very best in the next exciting stage of her life.”
Working with Nina for 27 years, teacher Tim Boyd added: “She has been a wonderful leader who developed a strong culture of community and service at the school.”
Students formed a guard of honour to see her off for the very last time.
