Northern Districts were all out for just 147 and batting again, captain Daniel Solway lead the way with a stoic 84 before the Dogs declared at 9 for 185 leaving the visitors to chase 131 runs for outright victory.
It looked likely when Northern Districts were 0 for 86 but Daniel Burns decimated the batsmen, taking a stunning 8 wickets for just 38 runs.
However, the visitors survived on 9 for 126 – still 5 runs short and gaining first innings’ points but unable to deny the Dogs’ fighting spirit.
