Built in 1891 by George McCredie, the house is of state significance as a welfare site for over 80 years before being listed on the State Heritage Register in 2003.
You can wander through this magnificent old home nestled on its original five hectares and wonder at the many original features including the leadlight windows, antique furniture and beautiful gardens where you can relax with a pot of Devonshire tea and other refreshments.
There will be stalls and displays from Brislington Medical & Nurses Museum, the Isuzu Car Club, the Old Car Social Club, Western Sydney Woodturners, Chris Lewis Jewellery, Gems & Glass Creations and Lorraine’s Handbags.
Linnwood’s Dorothy Warwick said they would also be displaying the pottery collection of Nell and Robert McCredie.
“They were sister and brother and aniece and nephew of George McCredie,” she said. “Nell was originally an architect – one of the first female architects – but then she and her brother started making pottery which is now very collectable.
“We will also be showcasing a scale model of Granville’s Goodyear Factory which employed hundreds of local people.”
Tickets: $5 (children under 12, free) this Sunday, March 12, 11am-3pm.
