He last played for the Bulldogs in 2017 and had taken up a trial contract with the club when looking to make his return this year.
At the completion of the three-month agreement, Coach Cameron Ciraldo and Football General Manager Phil Gould agreed the 33-year-old had what it took to be a valuable asset this year.
Ciraldo said they wanted Reynolds’ leadership and competitiveness to rub off on the squad but it was up to him show them his body could hold up to it all.
“He’s done really well in that regard,” the coach said.
“He has proved to us he can be a really valuable asset to the team this year so there was no point in waiting any longer.
“The boys were excited and jumped all over him [after hearing he was confirmed in the Top 30 Squad]; we didn’t do him any favours, he worked hard and deserves this opportunity.”
Reynolds said: “If there’s one thing I know, it’s what it takes to be a Bulldog. We’ve got a loyal fanbase and all they want is effort. That’s what Cam [Ciraldo] wants too.”
