‘Bringing Up Great Kids’ offers tools for parents and carers to better understand their child’s actions and work together to enhance communication skills and patterns of behaviour.
Anglicare is offering the free four-week program on Thursdays, March 9-30, 10am-12pm, at Chester Hill Anglican Church, with onsite childcare available.
During this workshop, you will: Explore your own values, goals and unique parenting style; learn about the stages of brain development and how to give support to your child through each of them; understand the emotions behind your child’s behaviour; develop strategies for helping your child solve problems for themselves; learn mindfulness and self-care exercises to help you look after your own needs while parenting; and have more calm, fun and attentive interactions with your children and family.
Anglicare’s Family and Life Skills Educator Jessica Deans said she loved seeing parents grow in their knowledge and understanding.
“Learning how their child develops and reflecting on their own family life, has a significant, positive impact on how they relate to their kids,” she said.
Spaces limited. Bookings: Jessica, 0439 474 154 or Jessica.Deans@anglicare.org.au.
