Join outback Air Safari to show charity support

GIVING lift-off to their fundraising efforts this year for Angel Flight, the long-standing Flight Club and Bankstown-based flight school, Sydney Flight College (SFC), is set to host an Air Safari this month, stopping in five outback locations.

Its aim is to raise $20,000 for Angel Flight, to support the transportation of 125 patients from remote Australian communities to major hospitals for treatment.
SFC has been offering its grounds and facilities as a hub for Angel Flight pilots to pick up and drop off patients for over a decade and will soon become the major supplier of pilots for the group.
SFC and Angel Flight are encouraging individuals and aero clubs of all shapes and sizes to get involved in the upcoming Air Safari, which runs from March 31 to April 5, with registrations open.
SFC Event Manager and pilot Lynda Hamilton is looking forward to taking part; it will be her fifth charity Air Safari in three years.
“It’s such an exhilarating experience and all for a good cause,” she said.
“We have eight teams (two per plane) ready to go but need two more teams. We will be stopping overnight in Mungo Lodge, Arumpo, near the Victorian border, Broken Hill, William Creek, Birdsville and Tibooburra.
“You have pay for your own plane hire plus $1,650 to cover all accommodation and landing fees; every participant is also required to raise $750, with SFC matching anything above that to the value of $250.”
