Back to school playground joy

THERE’S always an overwhelming sense of excitement and anticipation at the start of every school year, as it was for thousands of young people across Canterbury Bankstown last week.

Georges River Grammar Deputy Principal Ben Haeusler said that when students entered the school gates, you could see their joy as they met their friends once again ahead of finding out who their teachers were and immersing themselves in a fresh year of learning.
“As a teacher it’s an absolute pleasure to observe each and every year,” he said.
“In particular, it’s incredible to witness the youngest members of the school join our community, as the new Kindergarten students walk into a classroom for the very first time with new uniforms, bright eyes and ear-to-ear smiles.”
