Police alleged that about 2.30am on Saturday, January 14, a Volkswagen Golf was parked on Dunmore Street, Wentworthville, before a man and woman broke into a nearby pizza store. The pair allegedly broke into the safe and stole cash.
Between then and Monday, January 23, police will allege the pair broke in and stole cash from a further 15 takeaway pizza businesses at Northmead, Wentworthville, Toongabbie, Fairfield Heights, Cecil Hills, North Parramatta, Blacktown, North Ryde, Bonnyrigg, Carnes Hill, Wetherill Park, Merrylands, Belmore, Fairfield Heights and Croydon Park.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant in a hotel room on the Great Western Highway at Prospect about 7.30pm yesterday and allegedly seized mobile phones, more than $3000 cash, and clothing to undergo forensic examination.
A 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested in the hotel room and each charged with 17 counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling in company and steal.
Pizza not on the menu for thieves
