A relaxed, friendly competition that’s on offer twice a week at Wyatt Park in Auburn, Netball4All is open to male and female players aged 14 years and over with games on Mondays and Thursdays, 6.30-9pm, starting the week of January 30, and an Autumn, Winter and Spring carnival at the end of each competition.
It’s ideal for those who can’t make it to training and aren’t fussed about wearing uniform plus it’s cheaper if you register as a work or family group, although individuals are also welcome to register and enjoy the great opportunity to make new friends.
Netball4All directors Ann Maree Kopos and Kim Higgins say a lot of the teams registered last year hadn’t played since school.
“They’d married and had children and stepped away from sport but were looking to get involved in a fitness activity again,” Ann Maree said.
“Others have entered mixed teams of work colleagues or family groups and don’t want the bother of organising uniforms and we supply the umpires and the balls to make it even easier.”
Active Kids Vouchers can also be used, with Ann Maree saying there were plenty of teams last year with sisters and brothers playing alongside each other.
“There are not too many team sports where you can do this and our families loved it,” she said.
