Board Games
Play along with an old friend or make a new friend who will challenge you, laugh with you and help you exercise your brain (eight years plus) at Lidcombe Library on Thursday, January 12, and Merrylands Library on Friday, January 20, 10-11.30am.
Juggling and Ball Making
Release your inner clown, make juggling balls using an easy no-sew method and then learn from an expert juggler how to make those balls dance through the air (5-12 years) at Regents Park Library on Thursday, January 12, and Granville Library on Thursday, January 19, 2-3pm.
Kitchen Science
Ever wanted to write a secret message in invisible ink? This workshop will show you how, along with giving you the opportunity to explore other clever chemistry experiments using common kitchen cooking ingredients (6-12 years) at Merrylands Library on Friday, January 13, 10-11am, and Auburn Library on Tuesday, January 17, 2-3pm.
Futsal Friday
Young people can practise their skills and work up a sweat with their friends (12 to 25 years) at the Granville Centre on Friday, January 13, 1-3pm.
Cubetto
Learn to use Cubetto the coding robot and program through storytelling, adventure and collaboration and develop computational thinking and programming skills (6-8 years) at Regents Park Library on Friday, January 13, and Guildford Library on Friday, January 20, 2-3pm.
Basketball
Great basketball activities on offer to develop skills while having loads of fun with friends (9-12 years) at Auburn Basketball Centre on Monday, January 16, 12.30-2pm.
Paint a Puzzle
Ever wanted to make your own jigsaw puzzle? Using paints and miniature canvases you’ll have the opportunity to paint your own masterpiece (8 years plus) at Merrylands Library on Monday, January 16, 2-3pm.
Children’s Lawn Bowls
Young ones can have fun learning the art of social blowing on the lawn (5-12 years) at Dooleys Regents Park Sports Club on Tuesday, January 17, 10-11am.
Multi Sport Active Leadership Program
Free Multi sport fun on offer for young people delivered by Cumberland Police and Cumberland Council (12 to 18 years) at Merrylands Park on Tuesday, January 17, 10-11.30am.
Yoga Bush School
Delivered by Inner Child Yoga, this program teaches children fundamental yoga movements through fun activities (2-6 years) at Central Gardens Nature Reserve on Tuesday, January 17, and Wednesday, January 18, 10-10.30am. Parents and carers can join in.
Connection to Country
This workshop includes a Welcome to Country, discussion on Dharug and Aboriginal history, bush tucker talk, artefacts knowledge (touch and feel), art session and boomerang throwing (12-25 years) at Auburn Botanic Gardens on Wednesday, January 18, 12-4pm.
Lawn Bowls
Young people can have fun, learning and playing lawn bowls with Darren Morrison from Bowls Australia (13 to 18 years) at Merrylands Bowling Club on Thursday, January 19, 10.30-11.30am.
Basketball
This session offers fun basketball skills activities for children to develop a love of the game (5-8 years) at Auburn Basketball Centre on Thursday, January 19, 12.30-2pm.
Young Adult Reading Club
Join with readers your own age to share your thoughts about the books that you read. Think of it as an oral book review that is way cool (13 years plus) at Auburn Library on Thursday, January 19, 2-3pm.
Futsal Friday featuring Goalball
Work up a sweat with this session featuring Goalball which is a paralympic sport that is played blindfolded; anyone (12 to 25 years) can play. It’s game on at Auburn Youth Centre on Friday, January 20, 12-3pm.
Orienteering
They’ll enjoy the challenge in this workshop facilitated by Orienteering NSW which is part-treasure-hunt, part-amazing-race for all levels of fitness (12-25 years) at Auburn Botanic Gardens on Tuesday, January 24, 3-4pm.
Circus and Trapeze
Learn the tricks of the trade (12 to 15 years) at Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on Wednesday, January 25, 10am-12pm. But to secure your spot, you need to send an email to ilan.bermeister@cumberland.nsw.gov.au telling them in 200 words or less why you want to do circus and trapeze.
