The annual Christmas party was also an opportunity to thank volunteers and supporters with the State Emergency Services’ David Halliday presented with a Community Leader Award.
Other award winners were Samey Minkara of Street Industries, Jenny Holt of Club Rivers, Jenny Hantzopoulos of All Saints Greek Orthodox and Sheng Bin Liu, a Riverwood Community Centre volunteer.
RCC General Manager Matthew Martin said the Covid lockdowns were hard on so many people associated with the centre, especially when they couldn’t celebrate Christmas and the festive season.
“The Christmas party was our way of thanking all of those that have supported us through these tough times as we look to much happier times ahead,” he said.
“We couldn’t provide the life changing services that we do without our wonderful political and community leaders and support from local councils, funding bodies, community organisations, local health districts, police and so many voluntary and community groups.
“Many thanks to each and every one of you.”
