Minister for Education and Federal MP for Blaxland, Jason Clare, said they were among the outstanding efforts of 45 students at his 14th annual Community Service Awards Ceremony held at Bankstown Sports Club.
The special presentation ceremony to acknowledge and celebrate the enormous contribution students make to their school and our wider community was attended by more than 250 guests including families, school principals and teachers.
“These awards recognise students from 38 schools across Blaxland (electorate) for the outstanding work they do in our local community,” Mr Clare said.
“They have all done something special that makes them a local hero.
“Our community has a proud tradition of community service – I congratulate and thank all the students for their efforts to uphold this tradition.”
Winners: Ibrahim Wazzi, Al Faisal College; Ilayda Gokdemir, Amity College; Tasnim Sarah, Auburn Girls High; Faria Rahath, Auburn North Public; Elise Huang, Berala Public; Dilara Karagoz, Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High; Veikoso Innes, Regents Park Christian; Emma Redmond, Regents Park Public; John Naim, St John’s Catholic Primary; Jennifer Robertson, St Joseph the Worker Catholic Primary; and Joshua Haddad, St Peter Chanel Catholic Primary.
