Ring in New Year’s Eve with ‘Elvis’

GET ready to shake, rattle and roll when Dooleys Lidcombe Catholic Club hosts a free Elvis Presley tribute show to ring in the New Year.

Host John ‘Elvis’ Collins and New Zealand’s own Elvis, Johnny Angel, will sing three decades of hit songs and take you on a nostalgic journey when the world’s greatest solo performer was changing the world through his movies and music.
Multi-award winning John says that for any Elvis fan, it’s a show not to be missed.
“We will start in the 50s and go through to the Las Vegas days; there will be plenty of hip-swivelling and opportunities for the crowd to sing and dance along,” he said.
The night sparks off a busy 10 days for John who packs up the day after Dooleys and heads to Parkes, in the State’s central west, to set up for the annual and hugely popular Parkes Elvis Festival.
Then he returns to Sydney to catch the Elvis Express from Central when it transforms into a sea of bejewelled jumpsuits, Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts as hundreds of passengers accompanied by seven Elvises, ‘The Blues Bros’, ‘Cher’, ’Tina Turner’ and Polynesian dancers head to the celebrated festival to mark its 30th anniversary with a ‘Blue Hawaii’ theme.
“It’s going to be an amazing festival this year with more fans able to attend than ever before and being accommodated in nearby towns so no one will miss out on all the fun,” John said.
With a complimentary glass of sparkling wine on offer to Dooleys patrons as they welcome in the New Year, dinner reservations for the Saturday, December 31, show are advised at dooleys.com.
