Youth from 14 clubs bowl way to fun, friendship in Padstow

FORTY young people aged from 11 to 18, have converged on Padstow RSL Bowling Club to take part in Event 2 of the NSW Junior Gala Day Series.

Representing 14 different clubs and six different zones, the youth had to play with other young bowlers they had just met and many friendships were formed, according to organisers.
Winners (pictured) on the day included: Girls Under 18 Winners – Zoe Davis (Windang) and Skye Courtin (Padstow); Girls Under 18 Runners Up – Sammy Morton (Padstow) and Tahlia Nicholls (Pittwater); Boys Under 18 Winners – Jack McShane (Merrylands) and Daniel Paul (Taren Point); and Boys Under 18 Runners Up – Brendan Ford (St Johns Park) and Hamish Hampton (Dapto).
A spokesperson says Padstow Bowling Club has more young people “having a go than any other clubs in the district”.
“Other events and locations in the Day Series are to be advised; we feel fortunate to have hosted Event 2 and look forward to the next,” he said.
