Canterbury Bankstown City Council and the State Government will partner to host this major cultural event, which saw more than a million people flock to Lakemba to experience the extravaganza.
Mayor Khal Asfour says the funding – spread across two years – will ensure an incredible celebration.
“Ramadan Nights is more than just a celebration, it brings together the local community and beyond, to embrace cultural differences … That’s what really sets it apart from other events in NSW,” he said.
“With this extra funding, we will be right on track to take Ramadan Nights to the next level.”
Minister for Local Government, Wendy Tuckerman, says the partnership is a real win for the community.
