RCC Case Manager and Youth Group organiser Jessica Nakakawa says the Youth Drop-in, for ages 12-17 years, is extremely popular with participants enjoying a free barbecue and a range of activities afterwards like basketball, pool, table tennis, volleyball and gym access.
Students come from schools such as Georges River College at Peakhurst, St Joseph Banks at Revesby, Wiley Park Girls High School and Punchbowl and Kingsgrove North high schools.
“We are grateful for the support of the Department of Communities and Justice, Street Industries, Humanity Matters, Barnardos for their support during the Youth Drop-in, and to All Saints Greek Orthodox Parish Belmore for providing us with food,” Jessica said.
The RCC youth caseworkers can support anyone facing diverse challenges, from mental health to employment, domestic violence, drug and alcohol issues and more.
Services are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday anytime between 9am-5pm and on Wednesdays between 10.30am-6.30pm.
“Students can also book an appointment to get help with finding a job, improving their CV or if they need some emotional support,” Jessica said.
“While the Youth Drop-in is the perfect opportunity to have fun, meet new people and make friends.”
