As well as setting up a NSW Health-recognised AstraZeneca Vaccination Hub which provided up to 1,000 Covid vaccine jabs a day, club management also converted the Grand Ballroom into a student hub with 200 individual desks, all safely spaced and sanitised, for Bankstown Girls High School students to sit for their HSC examinations.
Bankstown Sports CEO Mark Condi said the club was privileged to help the community in challenging times.
“The past three years have been the most difficult in the history of our over 60-year-old club,” he said.
“Working with South Western Sydney Local Health District, our club ‘vaccination clinic’ operated seven days a week, 8am-5pm, with residents able to just walk in without booking.
“Every Bankstown Sports Group employee has played a critical role in keeping us going, and serving our community during these times and it makes me proud to be a part of their team.”
