Most of the Eagles’ team made the finals but with heavy rain still impacting games, only first grade made it onto the pitch.
Warringah showed good sportsmanship, preparing a great pitch for what was a game they would have preferred not to play.
They won the toss and sent the Auburn Eagles in for a bat. At the end of 50 overs, Auburn posted 6-250 with openers Asad Usman (52) and Gagan Dhillon giving a great start.
Captain Corey Lowe (45), Ardil Domingo (38) and Alex Daniels (48) also had strong innings.
In their dig, Warringah started well but then the wickets fell and they were 7-202 after 50 overs.
The real damage was done by one of the best spinners in Sydney Shires cricket, Yasir Ali taking 3-31. The rest of the wickets were shared.
The Eagles face Burwood at Rothwell Park Burwood this Saturday.
