‘Thank you’, but more help needed

State MPs Jihad Dib (Lakemba) and Sophie Cotsis (Canterbury) visited the Canterbury SES with lunch, drinks and snacks to say ‘thank you’ for the work they’re doing in helping the community prepare for the storms and heavy rain ahead.

Canterbury-Bankstown Council has provided sand and workers to assist in packing sandbags which were picked up by members of the community.
“However, there is much more work to do,” Mr Dib said.
He and Ms Cotsis put the call out for volunteers to help prepare more sandbags this afternoon at 196 Moorefields Rd, Beverly Hills.
As Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Mr Dib has been receiving ongoing briefings from the government on the deteriorating weather situation.
