Splash out on a perfect role for those who like fun in sun

HAVE you considered a career as a swim instructor?

For a limited time only, the City of Canterbury Bankstown is offering free training and certification to those interested in becoming swim instructors.
Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour said there were not enough qualified instructors out in the recruitment pool.
“So, we’ve created a new swim school instructor training program to upskill locals and give a whole new generation of swimming instructors a kick-start on their careers,” he said.
“In the role, you’ll run Learn to Swim classes for local children.
“You’ll not only teach kids how to be safe in and around water, but also build their confidence and self-esteem, as well as develop their physical skills like hand-eye coordination and muscle tone.
“It’s a very rewarding role.”
The CBSwim Academy program is open to anyone 17 years or older, looking for flexible casual work.
The program includes: Free entry into the Royal Life Instructor Course on January 22 (including CPR); Working With Children Check (cost reimbursed); 20 hours of paid on-the-job training; and a guaranteed job on completion at one of the council’s five Leisure and Aquatics Centres.
