Hospital recognises wonderful efforts of staff during pandemic

AFTER battling a global pandemic for more than 640 days, Auburn Hospital has stopped to recognise the tireless efforts of their frontline health heroes – and provide a little well-deserved respite. Auburn Hospital general manager Brad Ceely (pictured) said the efforts of staff had been tireless, especially throughout the most recent Covid outbreak of which western Sydney was at the epicentre.
A STAFF wellness day filled with food and well-being activities was held at Auburn Hospital as part of a huge ‘thank you’ to frontline workers and their tireless work throughout the Covid pandemic.
Marking the occasion was Auburn Hospital physiotherapy team leader Lilian Wong who said it felt momentous to have everybody come together, check-in and celebrate in a Covid-safe way.
“It was nice to take some time out of our days to really chat to one another and check on the other departments throughout the hospital,” Lilian said.
“This day was run really well and it was great to see everybody getting involved.”
Auburn Hospital general manager Brad Ceely said he was overwhelmed by the tireless efforts of staff.
“On behalf of myself and the executive team, I would like that thank each and every staff member for going above and beyond over the last 18 months,” Brad said.
“This most recent outbreak has proven the resilience and strength of staff at Auburn Hospital and they all deserve recognition for their hard work, support and dedication to patient care.
“I’m new to this role and have felt an overwhelming amount of support and kindness from all staff members, and for that, I thank you.”
