The Auburn hairdresser is among the many in the hair and beauty trade who has no shortage of work with lockdown lifting and and residents jumping at the opportunity to indulge in a little self-care after spending months at home.
“We are just so busy, booked out everyday and it’s so awesome to see all the smiling faces again,” Ozhan said.
Susan of Fatana’s Makeover House in Guildford, says that if it was permitted, staff could work 24/7.
“Everyone wants their roots done and to get a long, overdue haircut,” she said.
“So it’s great for us but the most important thing, is that all of our customers are safe and sound; we are just so thrilled about that.”
Greying roots are not the only problem, with many missing their exercise endorphins so much so that grey thoughts were creeping in.
Dolly from Dolly’s Bootcamp in South Granville, says that as well as the need to shed the Covid calories, many clients had been feeling down until they started back in her classes.
“Exercise makes such a difference straightaway and we are just so glad to be back in action and helping our community meet its fitness goals,” she said.
Agreeing, Rima from F45 Training Merrylands, said: “We’ve had no trouble building up the business again and are actually putting on extra classes to cope with demand.”
Barbers, hairdressers and gyms at Lidcombe Shopping Centre, are also doing a roaring trade.
“These businesses have been run off their feet,” a centre spokesperson said.
“K-Mart has also been a popular destination and it’s wonderful see people so happy to get back to normalcy; it’s great for business and great for the community’s well-being.”
A Stocklands Mall Merrylands spokesperson added: “It’s so good to see all the shops open again, the lights are on and the laughter is back; we’re all so happy again.”
