Responding to reports about gunshots near Stoddart Street and Moorefields Road about 3.30am on Sunday, March 14, police stopped a Holden Captiva on Moorefields Road after noticing bullet holes in the vehicle and found the driver, 32, suffering gunshot wounds to his leg and buttocks.
Police believe the Mercedes had been driven from the direction of Victoria Road, Punchbowl, and would like anyone who has dashcam to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Motorbike crash death
A MAN, 32, has died following a motorcycle crash in Greenacre last Wednesday morning.
About 6.15am, a motorcycle was travelling east along the Hume Highway when it crashed. The rider was treated at the scene by passing motorists, before NSW Ambulance and police arrived. He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
Fire sparks evacuation
ALMOST 30 residents were evacuated when a fire ripped through a home in a complex in Gardenia Street, Beverly Hills, last Tuesday about 8.50pm.
The male occupant escaped out of the back window before the Fire Brigade arrived. They extinguished the blaze but not before the home suffered major damage.
