Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour said the drive-through vaccination centre at Belmore Sports Ground will be a first for Sydney and a real game changer.
“Our community is ready to take up the challenge and roll up their sleeves from the comfort and safety of their cars,” he said.
“Council is working on a traffic management plan to ensure traffic flow in and around the sporting complex.
“While times haven’t been locked in, we are hopeful the centre will operation seven days until the end of October.
“Once given the green light, the centre could jab around 1,000 people a day.”
