The business is one of many struggling to deal with the impacts of Covid-19 but continung to operate and hopeful of making it through the pandemic.
“So many have closed their doors, as is our office, but office staff are working from home, our service technicians are still working as are our construction boys,” she said.
“It’s certainly much quieter, the main thing is keeping everyone working and just to tough it out but lockdown ending will be wonderful.”
Also soldiering on is the RnM Tyre Centre with staff still working.
“Being part of the transport industry, we are considered an essential service and everyone needs tyres so we are lucky,” a spokesperson said.
Merrylands’ Hilltop Childcare Centre carers normally look after 38 children but are only averaging about six at the moment, with many staff taking leave.
“The government assistance has been helping and allowing us to continue to operate,” a spokesperson said.
ZamZam Market owner Hassan Alamein, however, has not received one cent in assistance.
“We don’t think we meet the tough eligibility requirements for government cash,” he said.
“Every business is doing it hard in Auburn as our community has been the hardest hit so the end of lockdown cannot come soon enough for all of us.
“We feel lucky to be working in the food industry and supplying essential items for our diverse community; we are doing more pick up and home delivery now and hope that everyone can get back on their feet soon.”
