They said that getting the jab was as easy as walking right in, sitting right down and rolling up your sleeve.
After peaking at 500 several weeks ago, numbers of those keen to protect themselves against the deadly Covid-19 virus have dwindled to about 60 a day.
The dedicated AstraZeneca vaccination clinic is open seven days a week, 8am-5pm, and bookings are not required.
“Our City is powering ahead with vaccination, with huge numbers of people lining up to get the jab,” Mayor Asfour said.
“In some suburbs, nearly 80 percent are fully vaccinated.
“This is great, but we’re not out of the woods yet.”
Mr Condi said it’s been a privilege to witness how the community has banded together; “we are now so incredibly close to being able to see our family and friends, visit bars and restaurants and celebrate those special milestones with loved ones”.
“It’s no secret that the key for us to enjoy these moments again is by getting vaccinated,” he said.
“We urge those who are eligible for AstraZeneca to come and get their jab so we can move onto our new normal as soon as possible.”
No booking needed for jab at club
WITH a huge fall in the number of people turning out to get the AstraZeneca vaccine at Bankstown Sports, Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour has joined the club’s CEO Mark Condi in appealing to the community to “come and get vaccinated”.
